KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mr Willies Mchunu extends his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and team mates of AmaZulu Football Club stalwart, Jan Masoeng Sillo (33), who died in a car accident on the N5 whilst travelling from the Free State to Durban in the early hours of yesterday (11 August 2009).
It is alleged that Sillo lost control of his vehicle and it veered off the road. When police and medical personnel arrived on the scene of the accident Sillo was pronounced dead on the scene.
"I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the Sillo family and everyone associated with AmaZulu Football Club. It is always a sad moment to lose someone especially at the prime of his career. However, all road users are urged to just do right at all times, avoid unsafe overtaking and keep to the speed limit," said Mchunu.
