The Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, on 9 October 2013, held its annual long service awards, which awards long serving public servants.
This glittering ceremony took place in Pietermaritzburg, at the City Hall, and the honourable MEC Nomusa Dube, presided over the event, as she presented certificates to over 50 employees who have earned this important award.
The ceremony was also used to pay tribute to the select few who have served the department for a period of 40 years. In her address MEC Dube, said the commitment and dedication that has been displayed by long serving staff is admirable and is to be emulated as it strengthens institutional knowledge, within the department.
