Limpopo Education on hospitalised learners from Bosele School for the Blind

 Learners hospitalised for observation

137 learners from Bosele School for the Blind have been admitted at 2 Hospitals, (St Ritas and Jane Furse) for observation. This follows learners complaining of stomach cramps and diarrhoea on a suspicion of having consumed contaminated water. The Department of Health and Education are working very closely to ensure that all these learners get proper assistance so that they return to school.

The health professionals are hard at work and have since been discharged 76 learners and the remaining are expected to be discharged soon.

Upon interaction between the two MEC’s the MEC for Education will be visiting these learners at both the hospitals and school. We call on the parents of learners not to panic as the situation is under control.
