The launch of national monitoring and evaluation learning network

On Thursday, 14 March 2013, The Head of Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Ms D Qhobosheane, together with Chief Operations Officer, Mr J Leshabane, held a meeting at the Karridene Beach Hotel, with monitoring and evaluation practitioners from the nine provinces.

The aim was to enlighten each other about how each province deals strategically with monitoring and evaluation processes and implementation of procedures. Government sectors that don’t comply with required procedures, present a serious challenge, which can lead to corruption.

Government departments are not yet achieving their outcomes, and the challenges caused by this can lead to state failure etc. As Government, we need to borrow from private sector processes and management style, to be more managerial with procedures, administration and record keeping.
