KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) High Court ordered bogus 'Dr Zondo' to stop 'nuisance'

A bogus doctor who has been charging unsuspecting youth and poor parents, who wanted a good future for their children, around R3500 for nurse and doctor training at an Inanda 'College of Wellness' has been ordered by the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) High Court to close down his operation.

It is reported that these "students" lived under very unhygienic conditions which were a danger to themselves and the nearby communities.

On a number of occasions health officials visited the premises to inspect after communities from eTafuleni complained of foul smell and noise coming from the school but were had armed security personnel set on them. The officials were curtailed from enforcing environmental laws because the land is part of the Ingonyama Trust.

A joint task team involving health officials from eThekwini Municipality, the Department of Health and the South African Police Force worked together to ensure that his illegal and fraudulent operation was shut down. This was done to respond to the community complaints and those of parents who had seen that the operation was a fraud.

On the 15th of March 2012 the KwaZulu-Natal High Court, presided by Ms Justice Murugasen, ordered the premises to be shut down, bringing an end daylight robbery of unsuspecting youth. The Office of the MEC for Health was inundated with calls from parents who were complaining that they had taken loans to have their children sent to this 'college'.
