The Department of Sport and Recreation (DSR) is hosting a three-day Boxing Indaba which seeks to address the challenges facing boxing in the province and develop a turnaround strategy for the success of the sport going forward.
Over 100 delegates from all corners of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) descended on Durban to chart a new course for boxing in the province. The discussions at this ground-breaking gathering include the promotion of boxing in the province, elevating female boxing to new levels and, issues of anti-doping and nutrition for boxers.
The KZN Boxing Indaba is in preparation for the National Boxing Indaba scheduled to take place in Pretoria from 26 - 28 September 2013. Delegates from KZN will go with a single voice and a clear strategy.
