KwaZulu-Natal Health MEC,Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo to visit Stanger hospital for New Year babies

The MEC for Health in KwaZulu-Natal, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo, invites the media as he visits Stanger Hospital to welcome New Year babies and thank healthcare workers for their dedication over the festive season.

The MEC will be at Stanger Hospital on Sunday, 1 January 2011, at 10h30 where he will congratulate mothers and wish their babies a health life.

MEC Dhlomo believes; “Children are at the heart of one and every Millennium Development Goal, beginning with the battle against poverty.” It is for this reason that the MEC welcomes Christmas and New Year babies annually. The MEC also uses this opportunity to highlight the need to ensure that pregnant women are supported and protected through their pregnancy so that no woman dies during child birth.

The MEC will thank the healthcare workers who have been working over the festive season. These include the Emergency Medical Practitioners, doctors and nurses who were working in ambulances and hospitals in the province.
