The KZN Government through the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) will contribute to ensure that the late Inkosi Khanyelihle Mathaba who passed away tragically last weekend is given a dignified send-off as one of the leaders who made a huge sacrifice in making KZN a better province.
“Inkosi Mathaba, is among those traditional leaders who spearheaded the change and development of the institution in KZN” said KZN MEC for Cogta Nomusa Dube-Ncube.
“Inkosi Mathaba was a public figure and in addition to his tireless work on behalf of his clan and the community within the Macambini Traditional Council he was also a former Member of the Provincial Legislature,” said Dube-Ncube.
KZN Cogta’s logistical and material support for amakhosi, which also includes imizi yezizwe, is proof of the department’s and the Provincial Government’s desire to see traditional leaders playing an important role in the development of their respective communities.
“Making a contribution towards Inkosi Mathaba’s funeral is our own small way of expressing our heartfelt condolences to the grieving family of Inkosi Mathaba, his clan and the wider community of KZN,” said Dube-Ncube.
