Teaching and learning is not taking place today in several schools in the province of KwaZulu-Natal due to inclement weather that has engulfed almost the entire country. The most affected schools in the Province are in UMgungundlovu, Sisonke and Othukela Districts.
As a department we are aware that this dysfunction is as a result of nature, hence we would like to warn parents not to force matters and send their children to schools where weather can pose danger to the lives of the children. However, in those schools where there are no weather problems, teaching and learning is taking place as usual.
All the affected districts will ensure that they make up for teaching and learning time lost due to these weather conditions.
