We welcome the commitment by the Premier of the province of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Senzo Mchunu to ensure that there is continuous engagement with the private sector. Today the premier met with leaders of the private sector affiliated to the KZN Growth Coalition as part of his efforts aimed at driving socio-economic development.
“It is our view as Imbumba Development Group that the economy of this province will never grow if there is no conscious effort towards investments in entrepreneurship development. Studies all over the world have proved that small businesses are the engines of job creation.”
“Importantly, we reiterate our call for the provincial government to ensure that small players are given opportunities to participate in the mainstream economy.”
“We further call on the provincial government departments to ensure that municipalities comply with the undertaking made by the premier that small players such as co-operatives and small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) should be given opportunities to render services to the government.”
“We further reiterate our call that social cohesion will only be achieved if there is equal distribution of opportunities and the transfer of skills. In this regard, we want to express our support to the premier as he begins his journey aimed at speeding up the radical transformation of our economy.”
