Hope for unemployed graduates and potential young entrepreneurs

Nedbank has joined forces with Wordworks Emerging Leadership Corporation, Brictan Management Consultants and the KwaZulu-Natal Financial Literacy Association under the auspices of KwaZulu-Natal Finance MEC Ina Cronjé to launch Teentycoons. The six month programme for young people who have been dreaming of starting their own businesses will provide a free training course, which will eventually lead to a selective process where 25 individuals will be given a chance to pitch their inventions to successful entrepreneurs (SA Tycoons).

The first phase of the programme kicks off on 3 October 2011 at Nedbank Durban Kingsmead.  It is a five day preparation programme designed to guide potential entrepreneurs towards discovering their passions and desires; learning and practising soft skills required in business; learning about leadership and discovering their own leadership styles and; discovering their business strengths and exploring business ideas.

This first leg has space for 50 potential entrepreneurs. Following the first phase of the programme 25 of these young people will be chosen to continue with the second and of these 25 will be chosen to present their ideas.

Applicants must be between 18 and 24 years old; not working (or low income) and not in full time study or final year. They must be passionate about being successful and working hard.
