HOD for Transport awarded the Presidency Award by the South African Road Federation

The KZN Transport Head of Department, Mr Chris Hlabisa was awarded the prestigious Presidency award by the South African Road Federation (SARF) in Durban today (17 November 2011).

Hlabisa was presented with the Presidency award for his valuable contribution in the field of civil engineering and sharing knowledge with other government provinces on government infrastructure programmes as well as his contribution at a national level. He was elected vice president in 2004 to 2005 and then was elected president from 2006 to 2007.

Hlabisa thanked the Federation for awarding him with such an award and also
thanked the Department of Transport for giving him an opportunity to show case his skills and expertise.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the SARF for this award. As government we recognize the efforts done by the private sector of sharing their knowledge and expertise in order to build better quality roads and infrastructure. South Africa is the economic hub of Africa so we need as much skills as possible to contribute towards making that possible”, said Hlabisa.
