Gauteng Health sends condolences to family and friends of Corrie La Grange

Weighty patient dies at Charlotte Maxeke Hospital

The Gauteng Department of Health sends condolences to the family and friends of Corrie La Grange who succumbed to his unfortunate death in the early hours of this morning.

Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital came to the rescue and service when Mr La Grange was refused treatment at a number (ten) of private hospitals because, allegedly, of his 450 kilogram weight.

Healthcare professionals at Charlotte Maxeke Hospital worked hard to give him a chance to life.

La Grange spent time at the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU) and succumbed to his demise in the early hours of Tuesday, 14 July 2015, morning.

The department commends the efforts of health professionals who demonstrated their true dedication to applying measures for the benefit of the sick according to best abilities and judgment and to keep them from harm and injustice.

The department also conveys its condolences to the family for the loss believing Corrie was such a great person and he will live on in their memories forever.
