Foreigners first to feel the pinch of Mchunu's new pay-off line, “KwaZulu-Natal - alufakwa lubuya nesaphula mthetho”

Just a few hours after the MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mr Willies Mchunu had announced his improved pay-off line on one of the radio stations yesterday 26 November 2009, a foreigner was nabbed at N2 Umzinto doing 201 kilometres per hour instead of 120 kilometres.

The foreigner driver of a Chevrolet by the name of Tihor Pokoric from Croatia was detained at Scottburgh by the South African Police Service (SAPS) and was released on R2 000 bail and is to appear in court this afternoon.

Mchunu condemned such senseless speeding as it endangers the lives of other road users. He further applauded the road traffic inspectorate for upholding the KwaZulu–Natal banner for its known no-nonsense approach.

“Those who disobey the rules of the road must know that “KwaZulu-Natal - alufakwa lubuya nesaphula mthetho,” said Mchunu.
