Electoral Commission on results of Municipal By-elections held on 29 November 2023  

During the By-elections contested on 29 November 2023 in the Free State province, the Democratic Alliance (DA) retained its seat.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    
The new DA councillor is:

• Jan-Rudolf Maartens, in Ward 47 Mangaung Municipality – MAN, Free State. The party retained the seat it won in the 2021 Municipal Elections, with 50.02% of the total votes cast, compared to 44.20% during the 2021 Municipal Elections. Voter turnout was 31.32%.
