During the by-elections contested yesterday in Limpopo and Mpumalanga, the African National Congress (ANC) retained the two seats won in the 2016 Municipal Elections.
The new ANC councillors are:
- Ramasela Vivian Shadung in Ward 40 in Polokwane Municipality – LIM354 . The party retained the seat won in the 2016 Municipal Elections, with 63.15% of the votes cast compared to 60.62% in the 2016 Municipal Elections. Voter turnout yesterday was 46.22%.
- Emily Sonto Radebe in Ward 03 in Emakhazeni Municipality – MP314. The party retained the seat won in the 2016 Municipal Elections, with 78.39% of the votes cast compared to 84.19% in the 2016 Municipal Elections. Voter turnout yesterday was 34.34%.
