Deputy Minister for Women, Children and People with Disabilities visited KwaZulu-Natal

The Deputy Minister for Women, Children and People with Disabilities Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu today (Wednesday) shared with the KwaZulu-Natal Executive Council initiatives to improve the lives of these affected groups.

South Africa has targeted 2% for employment of people with disabilities in the public sector by March next year.

The Deputy Minister commended KwaZulu-Natal for being excellent hosts to the Disabled People International 8th World Congress held in Durban last year. On behalf of the delegates from across the globe, she conveyed their gratitude for the general accessibility of facilities to people with disabilities.

Premier Zweli Mkhize has undertaken, on behalf of the Provincial Government, to take corrective measures within three months to deal with the challenges of accessibility, employment equity and appropriate budgetary provisions.
