Agriculture and Environmental Affairs MEC Meshack Radebe visits schools in Hammarsdale and Nchanga

The MEC for Agriculture and Environmental Affairs Dr Meshack Radebe, had visited various schools in the Hammarsdale and Nchanga areas during the first week of school re-opening where he monitored the registration of students.

The MEC was accompanied by the local leadership who had also shown interest in the well being of students and teachers. It was apparent that most of the schools in Hammarsdale and surrounding areas are faced with huge challenges ranging from over-crowding to the shortage of resources such as libraries, stationery etc. In one of the schools visited, students managed to obtain an 85% matric pass rate.

The MEC had motivated students by encouraging them to commit to their studies and work towards achieving better results this year. He further, had discussions with teachers and Governing Bodies where he took note of the challenges and concerns they had presented to him. The MEC had promised to forward a comprehensive report to Cabinet regarding the status of those particular schools.
