Minister to speak to healthcare officials on improvements at King Edward hospital

The Minister for Health, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi will be in KwaZulu-Natal as part of his visits holding workshops to discuss revitalisation of various hospitals in the country and King Edward VIII hospital in KwaZulu-Natal.

The minister, accompanied by senior officials of the department in KwaZulu-Natal, will meet to discuss the conceptualisation of revitalisation of key hospitals in the country.

These include: King Edward VIII (KwaZulu-Natal), Nelson Mandela Academic (Eastern Cape), Chris Hani Baragwanath (Gauteng), Dr George Mukhari (Gauteng) and Limpopo Academic (Limpopo) hospitals.

All these form what is known as the high priority flagship hospital projects.

The minister will share his vision regarding health policy and services as well as clarify the role of government in respect to key issues of health and provide guidance as to the manner in which these projects are to be implemented.
