Minister Didiza to present the findings of the land restitution evaluation study on financial compensation paid to beneficiaries
The Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development (DALRRD), Ms Thoko Didiza, invites members of the media to attend a media briefing, where she will present the findings of the land restitution evaluation study on financial compensation paid to beneficiairies.
This comprehensive study was undertaken to evaluate the impact of the Land Restitution Programme on the socio-economic and psychological outcomes of its beneficiaries.
The findings of this study are an important milestone not only in South Africa’s long road towards restorative justice, but also in the global challenge of effecting reparations to the dispossessed. As the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development spearheads efforts to implement land reform policies, the insights gleaned from this evaluation will inform policy formulation and programmatic interventions.
