As part of maximising service delivery and exposing young people to Government programmes, the Department of Arts and Culture will tomorrow take its services to Ugu District, on the South Coast. The main activity will be exhibition on departmental programmes to be held at Marburg Sportsfield, outside Port Shepstone.
The day will kick off with visits to Gamalakhe Commercial and Olwandle High Schools where Arts, Culture, Sport and Recreation, Mrs Weziwe Thusi, will launch My School Adventure and Sport For Life programmes. The programmes are aimed at encouraging young people to us arts and sport to escape from anti-social behaviour.
MEC Thusi will then proceed to Port Shepstone Taxi Rank where she would interact with members of the public, encouraging them to embrace the Magnificent Fridays initiative. The final stop will be Marburg sportsfield where there will be activities by artists and demonstrations on different sport codes.
