Dumisani Makhaye High School which cost the department a whooping R31,5 million to construct will be officially opened by the Honourable MEC for Education Mr Senzo Mchunu as follows:

This multi-million rand school is named in memory of the late Mr Dumisani Makhaye who passed away in October 2004 and was the MEC for Agriculture and Traditional Affairs at the time of his death. The Makhaye family will also be part of this momentous occasion.
The school has 24 classrooms, 24 toilets, one administration block, one laboratory, one computer room, one media centre, a kitchen, a sports field, kombi court, two special classrooms, a sick room and a parking area. The school is fully fenced and has been granted a no-fee school status.
