MEC Senzo Mchunu will tomorrow, Friday, 25 March 2011 meet with Eastern languages concerned groups and other stakeholders including language experts, teacher groups and amakhosi. This consultative meeting will provide a platform for all stakeholders to put forward their concerns and discuss all matters relating to the language offerings in the province against the national policy.
This comes in the wake of numerous media reports regarding the percieved sidelining of Eastern languages in the curriculum. MEC Mchunu will also address concerned amakhosi from Umzimkhulu and Nquthu respectively, regarding language offerings in schools which are located in areas of their jurisdiction.
