KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Finance, Ms Ina Cronjé, will on Friday, 9 March 2012 deliver the provincial budget speech at the legislature building in Pietermaritzburg.
The provincial budget is informed by key national and provincial priorities, thereby ensuring that there is enough revenue to cover expenditure, for the province to be able to provide sustainable service delivery to all and to empower the marginalised to realise their economic, civil, political, social and their cultural rights.
MEC Cronjé will put emphasis on sound financial management and translate, government's priorities into programmes by addressing critical areas for development, coordinating infrastructure investment and delivery, creation of job opportunities and indicating the government's plan to fight poverty in KZN.
There will be a lock-up session or a technical briefing with the media, where the Provincial Treasury will explain the intricate details of this year's budget vote.
