Today, the MEC for Health in KwaZulu-Natal will hand over a site for the construction of a R13 million for the community of eZimwini in the Mkhambathini Municipality.
Amakhosi, Mayors and the community will witness the ground breaking event to be held today, Tuesday, 19 July 2011, at 09h00 at eZimwini Reserve. Journalists are invited to the event.
The Independent Development Trust (IDT) has been appointed by the Department of Health as an implementing agent to fast-track the construction of eZimwini Clinic. The clinic is situated in a rural area of eZimwini under uMkhambathini Municipality. Clinic is constructed to respond to the shortage of health services within the area and to ensure that the community does not have to travel long distances to access a nearest which is located in Umbumbulu.
The project, which is expected to take fifteen months, will create employment opportunities 50 for the local communities thus help to reduce the level of poverty.
