The University of KwaZulu-Natal Commerce Students in Pietermaritzburg Campus will be the first group to have inputs in the 2011/12 provincial budget as the KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Finance, Ms Ina Cronjé, will on Thursday, 10 February at 13h30 engage them in a bid to debate and solicit their opinion on government budget priorities.
The Provincial Treasury will embark on a series of pre-budget road shows around the province before tabling the provincial budget at the Provincial Legislature on 4 March 2011, to get public opinion on government priorities and to encourage citizens’ active participation in government programmes.
Through this campaign, the public will get an opportunity to send their tips to MEC Cronjé on what they think the government's spending priorities should be.
