MEC Cele to officiate passing-out parade of 107 Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) officers

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mr Bheki Cele will tomorrow, 14 July 2009, congratulate 107 new Road Traffic Inspectorate officers, 46 of which are females in a passing-out parade at the new traffic college on 240 Burger Street in Pietermaritzburg at 10h30.

The new Road Traffic Inspectorate officers have been vigorously trained in the last six months through the traffic training college in line with the Road Traffic Act. The appointment of these new officers will give law enforcement more strength. These officers will be the first to graduate at the new traffic college.

"These traffic officers are a welcome addition in our efforts to save lives on our roads; I am especially pleased to see such a large number of female officers graduating. I urge you to be determined to tackle the problem of road crashes and root out all criminal behaviour on our roads," said Cele.
