Today, the Head of the Department of Health Dr Sibongile Zungu will recognise the long serving healthcare workers at a ceremony to be held later today in Pietermaritzburg.
The Long Service Awards Ceremony will be held at Grey's Hospital Nurses Hall at 12h30 today, Tuesday, 2 August 2011. Journalists are invited.
Seventy three staff members, mainly non clinical staff, will receive 20 and 30 year certificates from the Head of Department (HoD) for their continued service in the department. The HoD will deliver a message to all the recipients at the ceremony and advise them and all health workers: “What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.”
