The MEC for the Department of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs and Rural Development, Mrs Lydia Johnson will address the community of Sisonke District during a climate change road show which will take place at Bhongweni Stadium in Kokstad on Thursday, 20 October 2011.
The road show forms part of South Africa's preparations for the Congress of the Parties (COP 17) to United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) taking place in Durban from 28 November to 9 December 2011.
The purpose of this community road show is to create awareness about climate change and its impacts; highlight climate change issues facing KwaZulu-Natal; educate, inform and engage communities on ways they can contribute towards efforts to mitigate climate change.
