KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Health spends the day treating patients at Caluza clinic in Pietermaritzburg

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Health, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo, will spend the day treating patients at Caluza clinic tomorrow in an effort to get the first hand experience of what health practitioners encounter daily in the area.

The clinic is amongst four health facilities that are servicing the community of 26 134 people and refer patients to Edendale hospital. This health facility is also amongst the first in the area that initiates patients on antiretroviral treatment for deserving patients as it is visited by a doctor designated for that service every Monday.

The visit to Caluza clinic marks the beginning of a province wide exercise through which the MEC Dhlomo will be visiting health facilities treating patients and attending to their complaints.

We invite the media to be part of this exercise tomorrow, starting at 08h00 until 12h00. Interviews will be conducted as from 11h00.
