Inter Ministerial Committee on Migration visits the AmaZulu King

The Chairperson of the Inter Ministerial Committee on migration (IMC), Minister Khensani Kubayi, will today, Thursday, 11 June 2026 visit His Majesty, The King of AmaZulu Nation, King Misuzulu ka Zwelithini in Ethekwini.

The purpose of the visit to the King is to discuss the issue of migration in South Africa, in the context of the current wave of protests against illegal immigrants in the country.

The Minister will be accompanied by members of the IMC including the Acting Minister of Police, Minister Cachalia, Deputy Ministers of Police and Home Affairs, Deputy Minister Boshielo and Nzuza respectively.

The delegation will also unpack the interventions of government as announced by the President in his Address to the Nation on Sunday, 07 June 2026. These interventions are outlined in a comprehensive strategy to deal with the issue of migration in South Africa.

The law enforcement arm of government will also be in attendance and will be led by senior officials of the National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure (NATJOINTS).
