Youth Development Agency volunteers to graduate, 25 Jun

Over 80 young volunteers who received training and job opportunities through the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) Youth Build Programme will graduate after spending six months being trained in plumbing and bricklaying skills. The training received by the young volunteers was a short skills programme and it is accredited by CETA.

The Youth Build programme instils  and promotes the principle of activism/voluntarism amongst the youth with regards to the delivery of housing and to mobilise youth into cooperatives towards the construction of houses in all provinces and municipalities. Some of the young volunteers who were previously unskilled and unemployed have been offered employment by Savannah City Developers (a subsidiary of Basil Read Construction) who are the contractors responsible for the Savannah City development.

Members of the media are invited to attend the graduation which is scheduled as follows:

Time: 10h00
Venue: Lakeside Multipurpose Centre (Library), Midvaal
