Mitigating Covid-19 vaccine hesitancy in South Africa
The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) in partnership with the Department of Health together with the National Immunisation Safety Expert Committee (NISEC), and the National Advisory Committee on Immunisation will host a webinar on mitigating COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy in South Africa.
South Africa is currently rolling out the national COVID-19 vaccine programme, which aims to vaccinate 40 million South Africans. This webinar is targeting members of the public who are contemplating taking the COVID-19 vaccine but are unsure because of a lack of information, beliefs, and unfounded information.
The webinar seeks to achieve the following objectives:
- Allay public fear and misinformation towards vaccination
- Reiterate facts on safety and efficacy of vaccines
- Provide cultural perspective on vaccine administration
- Share lived experiences after taking the vaccine
