Premier Sihle Zikalala visits Clairwood Hospital Coronavirus COVID-19 facility, 19 Aug

KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala will tomorrow, Wednesday 19 August 2020, do an oversight visit to Clairwood Hospital which is one of the quarantine and isolation health facilities for Covid-19 patients.

The Premier's visit comes after the release of Covid-19 related procurement in the province last week and the visit is to demonstrate how money has been spent on refurbishing the hospital.

The Premier will be accompanied by Health MEC Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu and Public Works MEC Peggy Nkonyeni.

The Provincial Department of Public Works was responsible for the infrastructure development work at the health facilities across the Province.

Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize was impressed with the province's state of readiness to deal with the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic during his visit to Clairwood Hospital last week as part of his two-day visit to the province.

Members of the media are cordially invited to cover the visit, and will have an opportunity to openly engage with the Premier and two MECs on any matter pertaining to Covid - 19, or developments in their respective Departments.
