KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Hon Senzo Mchunu, has convened an extended Multi-Party Political Intervention Committee to engage political leaders on a need for political tolerance ahead of the 2014 general elections scheduled to take place on 7 May.
Premier Mchunu will engage leaders of all 18 political parties contesting elections in the province as part of ongoing attempts by government to ensure an environment conducive to the holding of free and fair elections.
The meeting will address all possible threats that might disrupt elections and confirm the pledge by political parties to peaceful, free and fair elections.
Premier Mchunu will be accompanied by Transport, Community Safety and Liaison MEC Willies Mchunu, provincial electoral officer, Mawethu Mosery and the Provincial Commissioner.
