Minister Thoko Didiza meets Mathulini community members, 27 Aug

Minister Didiza to visit the Mathulini area in Kwazulu-Natal to defuse tensions.

Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development Minister, Thoko Didiza and the KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development,  Bongiwe Sithole-Moloi will visit the area of Mathulini in the KZN south coast to meet with disgruntled groups and community members on Tuesday 27, August 2019.

The Minister’s visit is aimed at defusing tensions between disgruntled groups and the Communal Property Association (CPA) in the area over the ownership of land.

Over the past weeks tensions have been reported which have allegedly resulted in the damage of property and an attack on a farm manager, who was thrown into fire.

Following these incidents and letters of grievances from both groups, the Minister sent a team to investigate the cause of the tension and report back to her.
