Minister Creecy leads clean-up campaign in City of Tshwane, Gauteng
The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Barbara Creecy, together with City of Tshwane Executive Mayor, Cllr Randall Williams, will lead a Good Green Deeds clean-up campaign scheduled to take place in Phillip Nel Park on Friday, 22 April 2022.
The joint outreach and awareness with City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, on Earth Day, aims to provide another platform for the Department to execute its Constitutional mandate of ensuring everyone’s right to an environment which is not harmful to their health or well-being. Also, to have the environment protected for the benefit of present and future generations.
During the launch of the Good Green Deeds in 2019, President Cyril Ramaphosa called on citizens, business, industry, labour and civil society to perform just one Good Green Deed a day such as recycling waste, or conducting clean-up activities. The Good Green Deeds campaign seeks to change people’s attitudes, behaviors towards responsible management of waste, and keeping their neighbourhoods clean, green and safe.
