Minister of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries officiates the release of the National Biodiversity Assessment
The Minister of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries Ms Barbara Creecy will officiate the launch of the National Biodiversity Assessment (NBA) at the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) in Pretoria on Thursday 3 October 2019.
The National Biodiversity Assessment is a comprehensive scientific assessment of the state of biodiversity in South Africa at the genetic, species and ecosystem level. It is the primary tool for informing policies, strategies and activities for managing and conserving biodiversity more effectively.
The NBA was undertaken between 2015 and 2019, and was a collaborative effort involving over 470 individuals from 90 institutions.
