Minister Barbara Creecy to host National Stakeholder Consultation ahead of COP27, Sharm El-Sheik
Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Ms Barbara Creecy, jointly with the Presidential Climate Commission (PCC) will host a national stakeholder consultation on Monday, 24 October 2022 ahead of the upcoming Sharm El Sheik international climate talks next month.
The 27th Conference of Parties (COP27) to United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will be hosted in Sharm El-Sheik, Egypt, from 6-18 November 2022.
The aim of the stakeholder consultation is to consolidate South Africa’s position for the climate change negotiations towards COP27, provide information and an update on the status of the international negotiations in UNFCCC and raising public awareness around climate change and the country’s response efforts.
