MEC Zikalala to unveil crucial road project which will unclock economic development in Richards Bay

The MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Mr Sihle Zikalala will on Tuesday next week unveil a multi-million rand road project which will facilitate improved access to businesses in the Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (RBIDZ).

The R53 million road project was undertaken by RBIDZ, one of the two provincial Special Economic Zones in KwaZulu-Natal mandated to facilitate economic growth.

“As government, we acknowledge the role of transport in driving socio-economic development.

It is for this reason that RBIDZ deemed it fit to invest in transport infrastructure in order to facilitate domestic and international trade. The R53 million investment in Medway Road, Richards Bay will ensure an efficient transport system that does not only facilitate the movement of goods and services but will increase production; and reduce the cost of doing business in the Zone,” said Zikalala.

The event will take place as follows:

Date: 28 November 2017
Venue: RBIDZ Techno-Park
Time: 8h00

The media is cordially invited to attend the launch.
