MEC Sihle Zikalala releases Provincial Environmental Outlook Report, 6 May

MEC Zikalala to release ground-breaking findings on the state of environment in KwaZulu-Natal

The MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Mr Sihle Zikalala will on Sunday, 6 May 2018, release the provincial Environmental Outlook Report, an important document that presents crucial information on the current state of the environment in KwaZulu-Natal.

The report focuses on climate change, air quality management, biodiversity and ecosystem health, land modification, freshwater resources, marine and coastal resources, economics, human settlements and waste.

Commenting ahead of the release of the report, Zikalala said: “We are happy that the much awaited environmental outlook report has been completed. The report contains a gloomy picture about the state of our environmental and more importantly presents possible interventions to remedy the situation, It is without a doubt a vital tool for planning for future development, spatial planning and economic development activities for the province,” said Zikalala.
