MEC Sihle Zikalala hosts post budget dialogue, 16 May

Hot on the heels of his Budget Speech delivered at the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature today, the MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs Mr. Sihle Zikalala will tomorrow, 16 May 2018, meet with stakeholders from the private and public sectors to discuss issues of mutual interest reflected in the Budget.

Among those who will attend the breakfast session are CEOs of public entities as well as those from the private sector.

These are critical stakeholders to the Operation Vula and the Radical Agrarian Socio-Economic Transformation (RASET) programmes which, Zikalala said, had been allocated millions of rand in the budget vote.

“When we delivered our budget we were explicit that we want to proceed full steam ahead with our radical economic transformation drive. It is therefore crucial for the private and public sectors to be fully conversant with our programme of action,” the MEC said.

The post budget session will also receive a presentation from the Chief Executive Officer of Transnet, Ms. Shulami Qalinge, on that parastatal’s plans for the province, including the recently announced multi-million rand cruise ship terminal in Durban.

Members of the media are invited to join the dialogue session to be held as follows:
