KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Health, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo officially unveils 95 twenty-three seater Patient Transport Service (PTS) buses at People’s Park (opposite Moses Mabhida Stadium) on Thursday, 16 July 2015, at 08h30.
This is part of the Department’s quest to ensure that it has high capacity to provide mobile health care services to people regardless of where they are - including in rural areas. The department already has, inter alia, mobile health clinics and vehicles for school health teams, family health teams, forensic pathological services, obstetrics (for pregnant women) and dental teams.
The addition of these PTS vehicles to the Department’s fleet will supplement the ferrying of patients to various health institutions such as, among others, Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central, Ngwelezane and Grey's Hospitals.
Ultimately, it will result in improved access to health care services for scores of people of KwaZulu-Natal.
Details of the launch are as follows:
Date: 16 July 2015
Time: 08h30
Venue: People’s Park (Opposite Moses Mabhida Stadium)
