MEC Sibongiseni Dhlomo leads 20 Years of Democracy celebrations, 19 to 23 Mar

MEC Sibongiseni Dhlomo and Mayors lead 20 years of democracy commemorations in Amajuba district

KwaZulu-Natal Health MEC, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo and Mayors in Amajuba District will lead commemorations to celebrate government’s achievements in the past 20 years, since the first democratically elected government came into existence in 1994. These celebrations will be characterised by the reviews and assessments of Amajuba District starting from the 19th to the 23rd of March 2014.

The reviews will be accompanied by the Freedom Flame that will be received from Uthukela District on March 19 and be passed over to Zululand District on 23 March. MEC Dhlomo as the Political Champion for Amajuba District will lead the reviews under Sukuma Sakhe structures. All media is invited to be part of these reviews in Amajuba District.

Amajuba District is also one of the Pilot Districts for National Health Insurance (NHI). MEC Dhlomo on the 20th of March 2014 will take stock and report on the NHI Pilot Project progress in this District that has got both rural and urban propensities. This assessment will take place as MEC Dhlomo hands over a high tech clinic (Ingogo Clinic) to the Ingogo forest community.
