MEC for Education in KwaZulu-Natal, Senzo Mchunu gives key-note address during the Principals Management Development Programme Awards Ceremony at Durban City Hall

The MEC for Education in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), Senzo Mchunu, is going to give a key-note address during the Principals Management Development Programme (PMDP) Awards Ceremony at Durban City Hall tomorrow, 13 November 2013. PMDP is a joint venture between KZN Department of Education and the private sector viz. Performance Solutions Africa (PSA), Price Water Coopers and University of KwaZulu-Natal.

PMDP started with a pilot project of 50 principals and three Ward Managers in 2009. This pilot project proved to be a success and the MEC wanted it to be replicated in all 12 districts. The Principals and Circuit Managers that are going to be graduating have completed six modules which include: Direction and Planning, Curriculum Management, People’s Management, Resources Acquisition and Management, School Governance and Management as well as Financial Management.

A total of 517 principals and 57 Circuit Managers are going to take part in tomorrow’s graduation ceremony.
