MEC Cronjé and MEC Dube to invite the world to invest in KwaZulu-Natal

KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) MEC for Finance, Ms Ina Cronjé will on Thursday, 31 January 2013 deliver a keynote address at the 16th Annual Wall Street Economic Summit, in New York City at the United States of America, focusing on KwaZulu-Natal as the attractive environment for business and outlining the mechanics which are in place in the province to work with international investors and business.

The second day of the three day summit, which kicks off from 30 January to 1 February 2013, will focus more on Africa. MEC Cronjé and MEC for Corporate Governance and Traditional Affairs, Ms Nomusa Dube, will use this platform to magnetise the world to invest in the province, as they will participate on the international panel that will highlight a number of the new trends taking place on the African continent, giving more emphasis to South Africa and KwaZulu-Natal in particular.

The panel will discuss Africa’s tremendous business opportunities not only in oil, gas and natural resources, but also in areas such as energy, telecommunications, technology, entertainment, construction, financial services, and tourism. This forum will also provide an opportunity to outline US trade policy towards Africa.

Among other speakers that will participate on Doing Business with Africa session will be, the KZN Treasury Head, Mr Smiso Magagula, Development Bank of Southern Africa Chief Executive Officer, Mr Patric Dlamini, President of the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ms Thato Tsautse, KZN African Renaissance Chairperson, Prof Sihawu Ngubane, and Trade and Industry Board Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr Obed Mlaba.
