KZN MEC for Finance, Belinda Scott, and the Head of Department, Simiso Magagula, will, on Tuesday, launch the department’s Savings Campaign in uMlazi.
In line with the message of “Spending your money wisely” MEC Scott and HoD Magagula will visit and interact with shoppers and taxi commuters at uMlazi Megacity and Taxi Rank to encourage them to save money during these hard economic and financial times in the world and South Africa.
The Month of July is traditionally known as the Savings Month in South Africa. During this month, all Treasuries in the country are supposed to encourage the development of a culture of saving money.
In line with this sentiment, KZN Treasury will officially launch this campaign on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at uMlazi Megacity, south of Durban. The launch is then followed by repeated messages on saving through the media and during the department’s other events.
This year, 2018, the department will be partnering with uMlazi Megacity and uKhozi FM during this full three hour campaign due to take place around lunch time from 12h00-15h00.
