Launch of the ground breaking Innovation Ward Based Intervention Programme in Arts and Sport

The KwaZulu-Natal Acting Premier, Honourable Senzo Mchunu and the MEC for Arts and Culture Mrs. Ntombikayise Sibhidla-Saphetha, will tomorrow launch a ground breaking innovation called Ward Based Intervention Program (WRIP) for Arts, Culture, Sport and Recreation, as part of the Operation Sukuma Sakhe Cabinet visit. This programme is aligned to the holistic development of youth in the province.

Venue: Emakhempini sports ground near Mcatshengelwa Primary School in Mandeni (Ward 11)

This programme will take a holistic approach in educating the youth about life skills and technical skills which will prepare them for entering the work environment. It will include health issues, lifestyle and all the problems that South African youth encounter on their daily lives.

Matters like STDs, HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, teenage pregnancy, disability, crime and violence and the acknowledgment on the role played by the youth in dismantling apartheid. Transport for journalist is available, it will depart from Playhouse in Durban at 7h00.
