Being a medical doctor, MEC Dhlomo’s first instinct was to immediately stop on the roadside to attend to the three teenagers who were badly injured and who had been on the roadside for about an hour pleading for help but were ignored by other motorists.
The intended visit would amongst other things, check on progress these three teenage boys, attending school at George Mbhele High School, that is Nhlanhla Mqadi, Thamsanqa Makhanya and Siphamandla Mfuna have made since the accident.

The MEC will be visiting the boys in their homes to assess what Assistive Devices are needed and what further medical care can be given. In this visit he will take along the Councillor and officials as he has learnt that the Mqadi family consist of 10 members who a two-roomed house.
The Makhanya family is also in a dire situation as it has 8 members who stay in a two roomed rented shack. Thamsanqa’s plight is worsened by the fact that he is being looked after by his grandmother as the whereabouts of his mother are unknown to the family.
