KwaZulu-Natal Cooperative Governance unveils thousands of new jobs, 31 Jan

Hundreds of thousands of new jobs to be unveiled in KwaZulu-Natal

As South Africa reaches 20 years of freedom - a society that is no longer characterised by racial, gender and economic marginalization, on Friday, the 31st of January 2014, the Provincial Government of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) through the Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, will introduce thousands of community members who are beneficiaries of its Community Works Programme.

The Community Works Programme, which has generated over 30 500 employment opportunities in four years (2009-2014), under conditions considered by economic fund is as “the most hostile to economic growth globally” is proof beyond reasonable doubt that the government recent commitment to create 6 million jobs in the next five years is not bogus but achievable.

The sterling performance of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government in delivering on the apex priority of job creation, despite the global economic crisis, is not only chest thumping but something that has earned the province accolades in the entire country.

Members of the media are invited to attend the event so as to be able to report on these developments. The event, to be addressed by the National Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, the Honourable Mr Lechesa Tsoneli and KZN Cogta MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube, will take place as follows:
